Dear Dr. Gottesman, ... I hope you can forgive us for taking so long to make tuition payments. The fact is that we fully expected Racheli to drop out again. We cannot express to you how relieved and grateful we are to have been mistaken. Your innovative and daring challenge to your students to become self-motivated out of their own personal desire to learn has certainly worked with our daughter. While there are days when she stays at home, those days have become fewer and fewer. And when she goes to school now it is not because she has to, rather because she wants to. That alone is worth everything... Yesterday the media was warning of probable terror attacks all over the country. Both my wife and I suggested to Rachel that she stay home. She insisted that, unless the road was closed, she would got to school. Now that is really a switch... Sincerely, Gary and Andrea Cooperberg Dear Menachem, ...My daughter experienced the most amazing transformation in the ten months she spent at Meled. Starting with what seems obvious, but wasn't in the past - she attended classes, she took her books with her and actually used them. As the year passed, Sarit became more motivated, thoughtful - both considerate and insightful, she read more than she did in the past, studied and took responsibility for her actions. When I met with her class teacher, Ettie, at the end of the year, I was delighted to hear, for the first time in many years, what a wonderful daughter I have and how happy the school was to have her amongst their students. Previously, I heard mostly complaints about sarit's behavior and how she was not applying herself. The feelings of respect, friendship, trust, belief and caring were expressed by you and the staff towards Sarit, as they were by her towards you and your wonderful, dedicated staff. With the endless patience, hard work, understanding, encouragement and empowerment from the staff, Sarit has completed all her exams, she has matured, and is able to give expression to the fine young person that she is... ...thank you for finding the way to my daughter, for giving her a chance, for believin in her. Sincerely, Linda Futterman Dear Menachem, Thank you for all you have done for us. You give us love and understanding, support and guidance. At Meled we were able to learn without pressure, and at our own pace. You gave us space to grow and develop. What we valued more than anything is the respect that you gave us. You treat us as adults and respect our opinions and views. We hope we can always count you among our friends. We couldn't have done it without you. You are the greatest. Yosef Goodman Z"L Class of 2003 [Yosef, of blessed memory, passed away while serving his country and his people this year, 2006. Yosef saved the life of his commanding officer at the cost of his own during a tragic military parachuting accident. Meled mourns the loss of this remarkable young man.]
